Smashbox
- FREE gift set & FREE 2 day shipping with any $75 purchase: code - NYE2DAY at checkout
- Free gift set includes: Blush/Soft Lights Duo in Super/Model, Waterproof shadow liner in Fan Club, and (medium) Lip enhancing Gloss in Aura ($67 Value)
- this offer is not valid with any other offer.
remember last time I gave you guys a code for Smashbox for a free gift? well I went ahead and bought a lipstick for myself and used the code, too! and.....it arrived!! I've been using it lately and here is my review:
It's quite small, actually, only about 2x3" or so? and the circles of goodies are occupying slightly smaller than 1/2 square inch each. BUT, it does exactly what it was supposed to do: let me SAMPLE all of these different colors!! Since I don't use these everyday, this 'tiny' palette will last me for at least few months, I'd think, which is good enough for me :)
and then, the Actual product that I purchased to get the free gift:
Tinted treatment Lipstick with SPF 15 ($13.50)
but overall, I would recommend it!

Jessica Simpson "Yindly" boot
Jessica Simpsom "Yindly" Boot
is Now....MINE!
hahaha. yes. it is true! I just got it yesterday at a Nordstrom. it was going through some kind of Boot sale when I happened to walk in it, thinking
"I MUST GET A PAIR OF BOOTS TODAY".
haha! how convenient. so yes, I got it for $114 or something? I forget, but with tax and everything, the total was around $120. ONLINE, though I see that it's still close to $200!! @_@ What a DEAL. it's genuine leather, a bit tight around the calf area (well, I do have a 'full' calf...), and with 41/4" heels with 1/2" platform....it's SURPRISINGLY comfortable!
Its sole is made up of something like rubber (which I LOVE, because then that means it will last longer AND I won't slip and fall and DIE like I would with many other boots before I put some kind of tracker on it), and the inside lining is of some cushion-ey, soft sponge-y material (makes it verrrry comfortable AND it insulates heat a bit!). and the heels...I don't understand how, but with all that height, I find it PRETTY darn comfortable. I started wearing it almost immediately after I purchased it yesterday, and I walked around in it the WHOOOOLE rest of the day! (~6-7 hours).
and another thing to note, online for some reason it says it runs large and that you should order a size smaller, BUT I don't know...maybe it's my calves, but I thought 1/2 a side bigger gave me just enough room around my calves (...still tight, there's no way I can get any type of jeans inside it) AND give me comfortable room in the front without feeling like it's huge. I bought 6.5 instead of 6 or 5.5 that I normally wear so I can wear thicker socks with it if I wished.
anyways, I LOVE IT!
I'm going to SF for a conference for about a week. so I probably wouldn't be able to update my blog for a bit, but keep me in mind and when I get back, I'll write ALLLL it!

Bangs!
I WANT BANGS!
just like this one! my hair is long & straight like her, too!
...well I don't LOOK like her though -_-
oo...and I WANTED to chop off my hair like that...
without bangs, initially...but then I don't know if I have the guts to chop off my hair so short like that in the first place to worry about whether i want it with bangs or without. :(
one day...one day....* sigh *
and this picture is just too cool to pass by. usually pink hair isn't very 'pretty' in my opinion, but WOW. it looks super good on this girl, whoever she is. the different shades worked for her without looking weird, AND her BEAUTIFUL eye color makes the perfect contrast. perfect make-up too, I'd say. she's just gorgeous!!!
So why the sudden urge? I hung out with a good friend of mine today, and it was my first time seeing her in like TWO YEARS or something ridiculous like that. and she had SUCH cute bangs I was soo jealous >_< ♡♡♡
Oh and special thanks to Trendy New Hairstyles for the pictures!

Deals & Values
Now...catching up with the deals & value codes that I got this week!
1. Folica.com
They're giving away travel-sized hair straightener/styler for FREE if you purchase certain products. you will be directed to the list of items that qualify for the free gift, when you click on the image above. Also, they have free shipping for purchase over $50. and I must add, their customer service is SUPERB. I've bought from them all of my expensive beauty products - 2 irons, hair dryer, make-up mirror, etc... (for myself or as a gift)
I kind of want this:
Solia "limited edition" 1" flat iron ($85 at Folica.com)
(for each pink iron sold, a portion gets donated to Breast Cancer research)
I have a Solia 1" flat iron in regular black & blue. I've used it for the past three years or so, and for awhile I used it almost every single day. and after three years of hard work, it's finally losing some of its 'magic' on me. last year I bought a Sedu nano-tech flat iron (2008 version), just to see if it was worth all that hype, but wasn't very impressed with it. Solia, in my experience, is so much better -- even though it's sOoo much cheaper than a most of these high-end straightener/stylers.
So yeah, I'm contemplating whether I should get a new one...I mean mine works 'fine' still...except for that time when it stopped working while I was trying to curl my hair (I ended up with half curly, half straight hair...hoho)! but that only happened once. I guess it does take longer to get straighten my hair now than before...
we'll see......(but if I'm gonna get it I kind of want to order it now, when I can get another one for free! :P free gifts are always so enticing...even though it's a sedu...but it's travel size! (6") it can fit in my purse!! hehehe)
Everyday/Every week deals:
- Lets do lunch: I've been checking their website every Tuesday & Thursday b/c of this!
- they give you a FREE GIFT (one full sized...SOMETHING) along with your order if you place your order between 9am-12pm PST on Tues/Thurs EVERY WEEK. I haven't bought anything yet, I'm waiting to see if they're gonna offer something I really like as their free gift for the day. HEHE (yesterday's gift was Blush/soft lights duo in CAST/CREW)
- Free shipping on all orders within US
- 1 jumbo-sized sample (you get to choose one out of three choices)
- Easy returns: but beware, if you got free gifts, you need to return them too! so you can't just buy stuff and return them thinking you can keep just the free gifts.
promotion cannot be combined with any other offer!!!
well that makes it easier for me, now doesn't it. =_=...no reason to wait anymore.
Anyway, new promotions:
- Get $25 off on $100 order - code: HOLIDAY08
- Free Brow Tech & cream liner palette - code: FREEGFT
UPDATE: I GOT IT! :P I just ordered a "Tinted treatment lipstick SPF 15" in Beam.
With tax it was less than $15 total!
but then I must think of what to buy from them so I can GET the free gift.
(AND 1 free jumbo sample that comes with every order)
- 20% off your entire order - code: 20PERCENT
- free velvet ballet slippers with any sleepwear purchases - code: VELVET
- Endless.com is having 12 deals of christmas & Free overnight shipping!
- Avon is having 12 deals of christmas & other holiday sales! Free shipping for all online purchases over $30!
- shopintutition is having 30% off your entire purchase! - code: GRAB BAG

Asian Chick
Ha! :D
"Asian Chick: Smart, successful, exotic beauty seeks friends to eat dim sum and pho with. Loves to wear lots of eye makeup, drift-racing, and new soy milk maker."- Mirabel
I mean, which girl do you find more beautiful?
OR
The girl on the top is Honey Lee, who was the 2006 Miss Korea, and the third runner up at 2007 Miss Universe, and on the bottom is the famous Aishwarya Rai, who was a Miss world and an actress in Bollywood; she has been acclaimed to be the most beautiful woman in the world today by many different sources. Personally? I LOVE HONEY LEE! :)
No, but really. What are my favorite things to do? What am I in love with today? or everyday? I do love to play with make up. I mean, so much that I've become an Avon-lady!

Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding Dresses
BEAUTIFUL DRESSES! so I must share... here are my personal favorites: (you can click on the pictures to go to the original websites.)
Snow White
Mirror Mirror: the novel, was written by Gregory Maguire, who is the author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (a retold story of Cinderella).
I must say that he has some perverted jokes and sexual contents in the novels, but he is still a good writer with a plethora of creative juice to be able to retell famous fables from the perspectives of characters that are almost always perceived to be the evil ones in the story.
I started reading his novels with when I first found out about the Wicked, the musical. I fell in love with the story so much I that when I actually read the book, I was overwhelmed by its dark and perverted nature and to be honest, I didn't like it very much. The slow pace of the story telling didn't really help alleviate either. that would explain why I didn't go on to read the sequels of the story.
But, I still liked the idea of finding out what the other characters (especially the villains) of stories we're so familiar with, such as Cinderella and Snow White, might have experienced while the glorified story of the main characters were being told. No one ever doubts when reading the Wizard of Oz that the "evil witch" is actually evil and that she has no specific agenda than to simply terrorize people. No one ever doubts that the ugly stepsisters of Cinderella were jealous and hateful of Cinderella's beauty and felt satisfaction to see her dressed and treated as a mere servant girl.
and so that's what Maguire tried to imagine, I suppose, and I would have to admit that he is brilliant at it. Yes, perhaps a bit disturbed in terms of his ideas of sexuality (as there are plenty of incest, gross description of odd sex relationships, etc. in his books), but nonetheless brilliant.
So I came to read Mirror Mirror: the novel. It had been a really long time since I saw/read the Snow White story but I was excited (and also scared that he would introduce some perverted incest relationship for snow white). Anyhow, there wasn't any incest relationship between Snow White and her father (thank God!) and the story was, I thought, almost pleasant to read. It was definitely captivating, as the story was now placed in a renaissance period with the famous Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia as the evil ones, and Snow White's father going off in search of the Sacred fruit -- from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil --.
At the end of the day, I really liked it! much better than the Wicked and the Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister I thought-- ironically enough, since I own both of the novels but not Mirror Mirror.
well and then I started searching for Snow White movies and what not....
and guess what I found!
featuring Kristen Kreuk as Snow White! Yes, that's your Smallville's Lana Lang as your PRINCESS!
I really wanted to watch it, so I looked it up on youtube: here's a fan-made montage of pictures from the movie.
and then found it at the local blockbusters! they were having some promotion, so I was able to rent it out for a buck! :) I watched it just a few days ago and awww it was quite good. I mean, it's not like I had a huge expectations for the movie. it's like one of those TV movies that play during holiday family hours. anyway, I really liked it. It was a cute movie aaaand Kristen Kreuk was just plain GORGEOUS to keep my eyes fixated on the screen :)
DEPAPEPE - Hi-D!!
Apparently when a good friend of mine came down with a flu in the middle of a summer few years back, a friend of her played her this exact song. After hearing it, she supposedly was so encouraged and renewed that she almost forgot she was sick.
I'm not sick or anything, but I've been feeling a bit detached from my work and studies...do you think this song might work its magic on me too?
:)
WooHoo!
this one will be fun. a collection of random thoughts and wishlists. :D
WOOHOO!
